The Daughters by Joanna Philbin

7129468by Joanna Philbin
Blurb: The only daughter of supermodel Katia Summers, witty and thoughtful Lizzie Summers likes to stick to the sidelines.

The sole heir to Metronome Media and the daughter of billionaire Karl Jurgensen, outspoken Carina Jurgensen would rather climb mountains than social ladders.

Daughter of chart-topping pop icon Holla Jones, stylish and sensitive Hudson Jones is on the brink of her own music breakthrough.

By the time freshman year begins, unconventional-looking Lizzie Summers has come to expect fawning photographers and adoring fans to surround her gorgeous supermodel mother. But when Lizzie is approached by a fashion photographer who believes she’s “the new face of beauty,” Lizzie surprises herself and her family by becoming the newest Summers woman to capture the media spotlight.

In this debut young adult series tailored for younger teens, author Joanna Philbin explores what it’s really like to grow up in the thick of the celebrity world. As Lizzie and her two best friends (and fellow daughters-of-celebrities) juggle normal high school events with glamorous family functions, they discover the pitfalls of fame and the importance of friendship

My Review:
This was a very good read. Quick & easy, only 288 pages. :)
This series is very enjoyable for me, because I enjoy these types of books. There are four books in the series, I am currently reading #4 :). I have loved each and every book so far.
This book is focused on Lizzie Summers, Katia Summer's only daughter.
I really liked how Hudson, Lizzie, and Carina weren't snobby, but really relatable too. Review of the second book will be up soon!!

WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!?!?!?!

Wish You Weren't Here (Camp Confidential, #8) by Melissa J. Morgan
Synposis: Athletic, quiet Sarah loves Camp Lakeview and is psyched to be back for another summer in the sun. She gets along with everyone and never makes waves. But when Sarah meets the girls of bunk 4C, she’s in for a huge surprise: Phoebe, a classmate of hers from back home, has come to camp this summer! Phoebe’s friendly, sure, but . . . well, she’s from Sarah’s other life, her "real" life, the one she leaves behind when she heads off for Lakeview. And if Sarah isn’t careful, Phoebe could spill her secrets to the rest of the campers. Sarah could never live that down . . .

Shiver Review

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
Synposis: Grace and Sam share a kinship so close they could be lovers or siblings. But they also share a problem. When the temperature slips towards freezing, Sam reverts to his wolf identity and must retreat into the woods to protect his pack. He worries that eventually his human side will fade away and he will left howling alone at the lonely moon. A stirring supernatural teen romance.

My Review:
I usally don't take very long to read a book, but this one was different. I had a hard time at first getting into it. I practically had to force myself to read it. Then, it got really interesting. I couldn't put Nookie Cookie (My nook's name) down. I got soooooo mad when I had to charge it and when I had to go to bed. The writing was amazing. About the cover. The cover doesn't make it look like its a goot book, but it is. I gave it four stars because I had times where I was like, "Really?". I still can't belive Grace didn't ask Sam to become a werewolf. I will have to read the rest of the series. I wish my mom hadn't put a hold on my buying books.... ONto the charactors!
Grace: Grace was, different. A good kind of different. I had this picture in my mind of her, she looked pretty, in my opinion. I liked that she wasn't a goody two shoes, and still cared about her grades, and tried her hardest to do well on her tests and stuff.
Sam: Throuought the story, I found my self thinking, "God, He's a wimp." Which, in my opinion, he is.

In A Heatbeat Review

In a Heartbeat by Loretta Ellsworth by Loretta Ellsworth
Synposis: When a small mistake costs sixteen-year-old Eagan her life during a figure-skating competition, she leaves many things unreconciled, including her troubled relationship with her mother. From her vantage point in the afterlife, Eagan reflects back on her memories, and what she could have done differently, through her still-beating heart.

When fourteen-year-old Amelia learns she will be getting a heart transplant, her fear and guilt battle with her joy at this new chance at life. And afterwards when she starts to feel different—dreaming about figure skating, craving grape candy—her need to learn about her donor leads her to discover and explore Eagan’s life, meeting her grieving loved ones and trying to bring the closure they all need to move on.

Told in alternating viewpoints, In a Heartbeat tells the emotional and compelling story of two girls sharing one heart.

Format: Paperback
Start Date: August 16th.
Finished Date: August 17th.

My Review:
A friend lent me this book. I loved it, but there wasn't much detail. It was also hard at times to figure out who's Point Of View it was in, if it was in Eagan's, and she was in her Mom's dream, and then Amelia showed up. Really hard. Still, I loved it.
